Walsall’s much loved Acorns Children’s Hospice supports local children with specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened babies, children, and young people.
With £10 million a year costs to run care services, Acorns Children’s Hospice relies heavily on donations. Following a difficult 2019, the future of the children’s hospice was secured in 2021 thanks to support of the local community who supported the Save Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal.
Due to financial constraints, refurbishment hasn’t been possible over the years, but Acorns are determined to match their facilities to their high-quality levels of nursing care and emotional support.
Recognising the need to modernise the space to enhance experiences for both children and families, The Room to Grow appeal was launched in February and aims to raise £750,000 towards these much-needed improvements.

Albert Jagger has contributed to the Room to Grow appeal to help carry out the transformational project. Donations like ours will help upgrade the children’s bedrooms, family care suite, create a brand new, purpose-built arts and crafts room and expand the hospice dining room.
